Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands "1st Serious and Applied Game Summit" Participation Report
On Friday, February 24, School of Media Science professor Yoshihiro Kishimoto and his students attended the 1st Serious and Applied Game Summit hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Minato-ku, Tokyo).
The power of games are being harnessed around the world to educate and resolve social issues. These sort of games are typically called "serious games" but in the developed country of the Netherlands, they are called "applied games" with reference to the practical aspect of this game genre.
Professor Yoshihiro Kishimoto served as the organizer representative at this summit, which was held to create a meeting between Dutch people involved in applied games and Japanese people involved in serious games.
