Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential factor in the mitochondrial electron transport system and also functions as an antioxidant; CoQ10 levels have been shown to change throughout life, but the regulatory mechanisms associated with development and ageing are unknown. I am using cellular and animal models, such as medaka, to elucidate how CoQ10 is regulated in the body. |
